Call for Mini Courses<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) welcomes and invites proposals for mini-courses for the CMS Winter Meeting in Vancouver from November 29 \u2013 December 2, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2019, the CMS meeting program has included a limited number of three-hour mini-courses with the following objectives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Initiating attendees to the subject of a novel scientific session, so as to broaden the scope of its audience and appeal; or<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Introducing attendees to a cutting-edge area of pure or applied mathematics, for both research and professional interests; or<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Providing professional development opportunities and advice, particularly for graduate students and new PhDs.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The CMS Winter Meeting mini-courses will be held Friday, November 29. Attendees will be charged a small registration fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Proposals should include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    1. The names, affiliations and emails of the organizers. Each mini course is allowed one or two organizers per course.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. A title and a brief description of the focus and purpose of the mini-course, being particularly clear on how it meets one of the three objectives outlined above;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. A brief description of the anticipated mathematical background of the audience.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      As the number of mini-courses is limited, please submit your proposal to the Scientific Directors (below) before September 30, 2024. Their contact information is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
