{"id":20517,"date":"2025-08-08T11:19:20","date_gmt":"2025-08-08T15:19:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mathmatters.cms.math.ca\/article\/new-2025-cms-winter-meeting-call-for-mini-courses\/"},"modified":"2025-08-14T09:10:53","modified_gmt":"2025-08-14T13:10:53","slug":"new-2025-cms-winter-meeting-call-for-mini-courses","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/mathmatters.cms.math.ca\/en\/article\/new-2025-cms-winter-meeting-call-for-mini-courses\/","title":{"rendered":"2025 CMS Winter Meeting | Call for Mini Courses"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) welcomes and invites proposals for mini-courses for the CMS Summer Meeting in Toronto from December 5-8, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2019, the CMS meeting program has included a limited number of three-hour mini-courses with the following objectives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Initiating attendees to the subject of a novel scientific session, so as to broaden the scope of its audience and appeal; or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Introducing attendees to a cutting-edge area of pure or applied mathematics, for both research and professional interests; or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Providing professional development opportunities and advice, particularly for graduate students and new PhDs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The CMS Summer Meeting mini-courses will be held <strong>Friday, December 5<\/strong>. Attendees will be charged a small registration fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All proposed sessions should be in line with the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/winter25.cms.math.ca\/code-of-conduct\">CMS Code of Conduct.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Proposals should include:\u00a0<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>(1) The names, affiliations and emails of the organizers.
