{"id":21872,"date":"2026-05-01T13:22:15","date_gmt":"2026-05-01T17:22:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mathmatters.cms.math.ca\/article\/new-2026-cms-winter-meeting-dec-11-14-call-for-mini-courses\/"},"modified":"2026-05-06T09:29:10","modified_gmt":"2026-05-06T13:29:10","slug":"new-2026-cms-winter-meeting-dec-11-14-call-for-mini-courses","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/mathmatters.cms.math.ca\/en\/article\/new-2026-cms-winter-meeting-dec-11-14-call-for-mini-courses\/","title":{"rendered":"2026 CMS Winter Meeting, Dec 11-14 | Call for Mini Courses"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) welcomes and invites proposals for mini-courses for the CMS Winter Meeting in Montreal from December 11-14, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2019, the CMS meeting program has included a limited number of three-hour mini-courses with the following objectives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Initiating attendees to the subject of a novel scientific session, so as to broaden the scope of its audience and appeal; or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Introducing attendees to a cutting-edge area of pure or applied mathematics, for both research and professional interests; or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Providing professional development opportunities and advice, particularly for graduate students and new PhDs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The CMS Winter Meeting mini-courses will be held Friday, December 11. Attendees will be charged a small registration fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All proposed sessions should be in line with the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/winter26.cms.math.ca\/code-of-conduct\">CMS Code of Conduct.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\"><strong>Proposals should Include:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>(1) The names, affiliations and emails of the organizers.
