This placed Canada 13th out of 117 countries who participated in the championship high school mathematical competition, which ran from July 10th to 21st, 2026. Canada had an excellent result of 13<\/i><i>th<\/i><i>\u00a0place with 1 gold, 3 silvers, and 2 bronze medals. Congratulations to the team, the leaders, trainers, and all other support staff on their success!<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The team attended a training camp before the competition at the University of Toronto and Toronto Metropolitan University in Toronto, Ontario. The IMO began in 1959 in Romania with seven participating countries. Math Team Canada competed against the world\u2019s best students from over 100 countries in the 66th IMO. Canada has earned 45 gold, 76 silver, 100 bronze medals, and 21 honourable mentions since first competing in 1981.<\/p>\n<p><b>About the Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cms.math.ca\/\">Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS)<\/a>\u00a0is the main national organization whose goal is to promote and advance the discovery, learning and application of mathematics.
