Sa mission consiste \u00e0 produire des r\u00e9sultats de recherche qui ont une incidence sur les enjeux scientifiques les plus importants auxquels font face les collectivit\u00e9s de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et du renseignement du Canada et de la collectivit\u00e9 des cinq. L\u2019ITMC porte le nom de William T. Tutte (Ph. D.), d\u00e9crypteur et math\u00e9maticien canadien d\u2019origine britannique, qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 reconnu pour avoir d\u00e9crypt\u00e9 le code des machines Lorenz utilis\u00e9es par le haut commandement allemand lors de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. M. Tutte est membre de l\u2019Ordre du Canada, et son travail fondamental sur la th\u00e9orie des graphes et la th\u00e9orie des matro\u00efdes jouit d\u2019une r\u00e9putation internationale.<\/p>\n\n<p>Les principaux domaines de recherche de l\u2019ITMC sont la cryptographie et la science des donn\u00e9es.
