NEW: Teachers’ Math Battle — Join the Fun on Nov 21!
Dear colleagues,
Are you feeling mathematically adventurous? Has it been a while since you got to play with some cool math instead of just grading it? Do you secretly miss the thrill of finally solving a problem after a few hours?
If so, we have excellent news: the Math Battle is coming to Ottawa, and yes, it’s finally your turn to have fun!

This friendly battle is part of a larger plan to launch a full Grades 10–12 Math Battle tournament in 2027–2028. This year, we’re running two warm‑up battles — one for teachers and one for students — to get everyone familiar with the format and excited for the real deal 😄
You’re invited to participate, cheer, observe, or join the post‑battle discussion — even if you’re not playing.
More details (including registration, schedule, rules, and past problems) can be found here. Please register individually by Nov 16. Teams will be formed on the day, so you will still be able to join your colleagues… or bravely oppose them😉
We’ve also attached the event poster in case your staff room needs a mathematically themed decoration (or you simply wish to share it with your department).
