The Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) is delighted to celebrate the remarkable achievements of two members of the Canadian mathematical community, Dr. Christiane Rousseau and Dr. Kumar Murty, on their induction into the Order of Canada.

Dr. Christiane Rousseau, former CMS president, CMS Fellow, and recipient of the Graham Wright Award and Adrien Pouliot Prize, has been appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the advancement and promotion of mathematics in Canada and beyond.

Dr. Kumar Murty has been appointed a Member of the Order of Canada for his exceptional contributions to the field of mathematics, particularly in the areas of number theory and algebraic geometry. Dr. Kumar Murty, a professor at the University of Toronto and Director of the Fields Institute, has over 40 years of expertise in mathematics. He is a CMS fellow and a past recipient of the Coxeter-James Prize.

The CMS extends its heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Rousseau and Dr. Murty for this well-deserved recognition of their dedication and excellence!
