NEW: Canadian Statistical Literacy Poster Contest
Dear teachers,
The SSC is running a national poster competition this year and we’re inviting you to participate and/or help us get the word out.
Who’s eligible?
Grade 4 to postsecondary teachers/instructors and their students. There are 4 categories:
- Grades 4-6
- Grades 7-9
- Grades 10-12
- Bachelor-level university/college students (before thesis or program capstone project)
How does this competition work?
Teachers/instructors build the poster assignment into their course(s) (or supervise students who are interested in doing this as a co-curricular activity) and enter the top 3-5 posters per course into the competition at https://islp.ssc.ca/portal/login.
What’s the timeline?
Teachers/instructors should create an account at https://islp.ssc.ca/ by December 31, 2026 to indicate interest, and submit posters created by their students no later than February 19, 2027 to enter the Canadian competition.
There are prizes to be won and winners of this competition will represent Canada in the 2026-2027 International Statistical Literacy Poster Competitionhttps://iase-web.org/islp-poster-competition-2026-2027.
For more information, please visit https://islp.ssc.ca/.
Please help get the word out to colleagues and Grades 4-12 teachers. And, if you’re teaching this year, we hope you consider building this into your course(s).
Looking forward to celebrating the creativity of students across the country as they make sense of data!
Sincerely,
Statistical Education Committee
